Feeling lit?

I am all about trying out new things and sharing my experiences and one of those things that I absolutely love, is candles.

Any size, colour, smell, type, amount, all goes when it comes to candles.

I love listening to the flame especially in these new types that we found as it reminds me of being by the fire.

I love the smell of the candles. I love the look of the flames and the shadows they create.

It just brings me to my happy place and not many evenings go by in our house without a candle being lit after the kids have gone to bed.

So with starting Annly up and wanting to expand the gift store side of things, I thought, could I actually make my own candles?? Turns out, I can at least go through the motions!

I found these amazing little glass jars and I am attempting to make my first ever home made candle!

So far it all smells heavenly in our house.

Might have something to do with me spending all morning baking gingerbread but we won't dwell on that.

I used the wax we had left over from a candle that we bought that didn't burn right and I got my own wicks and jar, found some old pans and I was ready to go!

I melted the wax after setting up the wick and I have to be honest, I did spill a bit of the wax pouring it in so I will be investing in a glass jug just for my candle making purposes for the future as as much I would love to, I won't be buying a new chopping board after every candle making session.

This candle is now cooling down and I will be trying it out for myself before putting them up for sale and giving out as Christmas presents so come back to see what the results are!

I have already sourced some different scents and each candle I make will be unique as I love to try and reuse old jars and candles as much as possible.

i believe we all need something beautiful, something sweet and something personal to us in our lives to help us keep it together.
